Prepare a Catalan Summer Terrace Lunch

This is a class that I teach regulary and change the menu with the seasons. We'll create the perfect summer meal together, I'll do much of the work, but there's plenty of opportunity to do some prep and cooking plus ask questions along the way, so it isn´t just turn up for lunch!.

This is all about creating the perfect summer Catalan lunch, ideal for an early afternoon informal meal on the terrace and if possible we;ll eat outside in the shade. I sometimes move the location to suit the guests, especially for a private group, and I'm happy to run this experience at your own apartment or villa along the Garaff coast or in Barcelona. So you might be cooking and eating in my Barcelona hang-out or my beachside fisherman's cottage down the coast (easy access wherever).

We'll prepare a meal for sharing, making the most of seasonal market produce and traditional Catalan recipes with a little added imagination. Here in Ricky M's class/meal combo we´ll speed along the prep of the dishes a little more quickly than in a conventional class, though still lots of time for food chat and know-how if you want it. Dish by dish we´ll assemble a buffet feast you can recreate for family and friends as we chat informally about the ingredients, techniques and life by this stretch of the Med. The first part usually lasts about 2 hours and then half the afternoon is yours for the enjoying of the fruits of our labour. Enjoy a glass of Cava or a chilled Vermut,on the house plus local Penedes wine with the meal.
