Ricky M returns with a special selection of Cookery Classes. As ever, as much a cooking show as a cookery class.
" For me, the last couple of years have been pretty tough at times, having been forced to undergo a little body refurbishment here and there. Fair enough. Yet I always know that when there’s a down day, the best place to go is to the kitchen….for some culinary therapy. It almost always works for me, and I know it works for many keen home cooks too.
I’ve spent more time back in the UK which can be a culinary challenge, but I try to embrace it and, for example, have been heartened by the spread of quality ethnic produce shops to the smaller towns; I’ve also enjoyed being more seasonally aware again…blink and its gone until next year. A change of routine and surroundings has given me new ideas in the kitchen and beyond.
I’m being asked for recipes and tuition like never before, and I’m getting the impression that when - and for a variety of reasons - life is challenging for so many, one of the positives to emerge is that cooking in the home, in some shape or form, is holding its own against the competition from a fluid dining-out , takeaway and meal delivery market.
I’m always happy to share my skills and experience with those who want to cook, whatever your experience. 2025 is a year that’s different and exciting for me, with the evolution of a moving cookery school, classes now possible using different venues and an emphasis on providing more scope for guests to select what you would like me to teach."
